I come to you. I work on the computer. If it is done, I take the junk with me.

I am Paul Baratelli. I live in Jackson, NJ. If your computer is broken, we fix it. If it is crawling, we improve it so it earns its keep again. If it is finished, it does not go in the regular trash. Old towers, laptops, monitors, drives, and the drawer of mystery cables get hauled out and recycled the right way — not dumped where they do not belong, and not left in the garage for another three years “just in case.”

I started House Call Bytes because I was already doing the work and wanted to call it a business. I also had a lot of old computers sitting around and needed to get rid of them properly. It was a hassle. I wished someone would just come, take the machines, and dispose of them in a way that did not hurt the environment. So that is what I built.

This is a family-and-friends-run service. I have a truck. Tools. You talk to directly to tech. I am not building a call center, and I do not sell you a four-year protection plan. I am opening the door and saying: if your PC is dead, slow, or multiplying in the back room, I will come look at it and tell you whether it is worth keeping.

I started getting paid for tech work at 14. I was the person people called when a machine would not boot. In the years after that I spent more than 25 years on the unglamorous side of IT — databases, servers, reporting — most recently SQL Server, Power BI, and a pile of production boxes that were not allowed to fall over. The meetings ended. The work did not. I do it now in homes and small shops, the places that never had an IT department and should not need one except for a stubborn laptop.

On a house call that usually means repair and setup, slow PCs, viruses, backups, Wi-Fi, and “it just started acting weird.” If the machine is done, the old computers and the tangle of cables can leave on the same trip. When a small business needs more than that, the same work applies at a different scale: solutions architecture, cloud migration, Microsoft SQL Server administration, development, and reporting.
